The Unstoppable Force of Female Surfers: Protecting Marine Ecosystems through Environmental Activism

As we stand on the shore, gazing out at the ocean, it's easy to get caught up in the thrill of riding waves and soaking up the sun. But for women like us who've been surfing for decades, this is just a part of our lives. In 2017, a devastating oil spill ravaged the beach and nearby waters, threatening the home of countless marine animals. The spill, which was caused by an explosion at an offshore oil rig, released millions of gallons of crude into the ocean.

Despite the severity of the disaster, the response from local authorities was slow and inadequate. That's when our community came together – literally.
